From high to low. Details on AT&T’s new 3GS Upgrade Policy

attds From high to low. Details on AT&Ts new 3GS Upgrade PolicyI’m back to teh suck.  I spent about 15 minutes on the phone this morning with a very nice AT&T rep (yes there actually are some) to try and figure out why I wasn’t upgrade eligible for a 3GS.  Basically, it seems that if you were a new-to-AT&T-customer who purchased an iPhone 3G with contract on the first day it was available (July 11th, 2008), then you are NOT eligible for the upgrade pricing.  This is based on my personal experience and your mileage may vary but the rep seemed to think that this should apply to anyone who was a new 2-year customer buying the 3G.  AT&T’s new policy seems to be targeted at original iPhone customers who upgraded to the 3G.  As far as the rep and I could figure, those are the only people who would have upgrade eligibility dates that were not in December or beyond.

So close.  And yet so far.  Damn you Death Star!
