Totally Cool Ink Calendar
There are lots of ways to watch time pass, but this has got to be one of the coolest I’ve ever seen.
This is a calendar attached via a paper strip to an inkwell. Through the magic of capillary action, the ink is absorbed by the paper gradually over time. The idea is that the absorption rate is sufficient to completely fill in each set of numbers in 24 hours, so that as the month flows by, the calendar gradually changes from white to colored.
Right now, this is just an art piece hanging in Madrid, but man – could you imagine if the artist could productionalize this somehow? I could totally picture showing this off to some supermodel I’m trying to impress in my skyrise lovepad.
