12 Things Xmas list, fin

December 23rd, 2009 No comments

OK, my final post about Xmas gifts. These last two both have to do with time, and would be excellent gifts for anyone, regardless of weather they are into “being green”, like me, or not.

First, the Citizen “Eco-Drive” Solar Powered Watch.

This super stylish watch has a solar panel background that keeps the watch running for months at a time. It’s $131 with a quality name to back it up. I know they say this is a man’s watch, but it could be unisex, easy.

Finally the Water Powered Clock by Green Stamp.

About $16 these clocks run off water, not batteries. So instead of tossing and buying batteries every year, just fill up the can.
I like the green one, btw.

When You Absolutely HAVE to Get Out of Bed

Aqua Clocky

Aqua Clocky

If you’re like me, you want to stay in bed until the last possible second. And when the alarm goes off, it’s all too easy to hit the snooze button and go back to sleep. One thing that works is putting your alarm clock all the way across the room. Or you could go one better and get an alarm clock that makes you chase after it. Enter Clocky. Designed by an engineering student who was having trouble getting out of bed, it lets you set your snooze time from zero to nine minutes. But the fun doesn’t end there.

After you’ve snoozed once, Clocky runs away. Mounted on two rugged wheels, Clocky moves easily over both hardwood and carpet. It can also jump right off your night stand — from as high as three feet — making you give chase to turn it off. Nothing like a little cardio to make you wide awake in the a.m. You can also disable Clocky’s wheels for a more traditional waking up experience, but where’s the fun in that?

Clocky comes in aqua, chrome, and almond and runs on four AAA batteries.
