Clear sink trap makes plumbing easy

May 22nd, 2009 No comments

I hate plumbing.  I’ve had more than my fair share of things falling into the sink, never to be seen again (or found after a hefty service fee to the local extortionist known as the plumber).  So when I saw this, I had to have it.

img_2200This is the PermaFlow self-cleaning drain.  It’s a replacement for your sink’s P-trap (the part that keeps your sewer stuffs from coming back up into your sink).  This baby is genius.

First of all, it’s clear so you can SEE where the damn clog is.  Almost everything that gets caught in the pipes is caught at the p-trap cause of the bend.

Second, the dial allows you to clear obstructions in the trap with a simple turn.  No more calling Mr. Roto-extortionist-Rooter to spend five minutes clearing a trap that had a particularly big wad of hair in it – you can just dial that mass down the pipes yourself.

And because you can see and clear obstructions easily and quickly, you don’t have to buy drain-cleaning chemicals that are incredibly bad for the environment.

Saves money, saves the planet, and makes life easier.  What more could you ask for?
