Blood Lamp

Now here is a piece of art that will make you think about energy consumption…

The Blood Lamp…

For the lamp to work one breaks the top off, dissolves the powder, and uses their own blood to power a simple light. By creating a lamp that can only be used once, the user must consider when light is needed the most, forcing them to rethink how wasteful they are with energy, and how precious it is.

Balloon Lamp

I like balloons. But their novelty tends to run out after say a few hours. Meet the Balloon Lamp designed by Kouichi Okamoto. The balloon has an LED light inside of it providing you with useful lighting.

The LED light uses 2 lithium-ion watch batteries (not included)that will shine for 100 hours. They are expensive though costing $63 from the Japan Trend Shop. It doesn’t say how it will work if the balloon blows up or how safe it is.
