Share the Pizza

We live in one of the fattest cities in the US, so I don’t know if this site is a good thing or a bad thing, but if pizza is your thing, then check out Pizzashare.  It mashes together Google Maps with a social network of dedicated pizza fans to provide listings of pizza places in your area.  The interesting thing is that the more people list a place, the “bigger” that place becomes on the map.  Gives you a quick visual way to see what the most popular pizza places are in your neighborhood.  Check it out:

snapshotThis is the Pizzashare map of my zip code.  The big red dot represents the Couch Tomato, which is probably one of the most popular pizza places in my neighborhood.  Given that I live in an area where there is a pizza place literally every other block (I think they have some sort of non-compete clause that prevents them from having a shop on every block), the fact that Couch Tomato garnered 10 votes is a pretty big deal.  Especially considering that this is a fairly new site.
